La formation des intentions professionnelles des adolescent(e)s se reconnaissant dans une orientation sexuelle minoritaire

Abstract : This article addresses how professional choice is impacted in a particular way among self-identified adolescent homosexuals and bisexuals, notably because adolescence exposes them to particularly strong identity tensions, possible homophobic abuse in school environments, or the possible lack of understanding of their entourage when confronted with a choice of a potentially atypical profession for their gender. From this starting point, the article proposes to compare and contrast the principal studies treating the construction of minority sexual identity with works studying the development of career planning by adolescents and young adults who identify as homosexual or bisexual. Basing itself on a synthesis of these two bodies of work, the article more broadly questions the construction of adolescents' career-path choices — notably those of Super (1990) and Marcia (1966) — about the importance, in these choices, of a sexual orientation that is, itself, still being built.
