Une vie religieuse confisquée. L'histoire d'un maître taoïste d'arts martiaux à Pékin

Abstract : This paper examines how a Beijing Taoist master perpetuated an old martial arts ritual tradition despite the prohibition against all religious practices under the Cultural Revolution. His life story helps understand the channeling zones between married masters and monks used in face of adversity, and also those between the religious and lay worlds, used to cross the vicissitudes of history, in this case by playing with the ritual, festive or simply athletic components of the martial arts.
