Dispositif perspectif et linéaire linguistique

The Renaissance perspective model, where lines that are supposedly parallel seem to converge in the distance and objects gradually decrease in size as they recede in space, generates an impression of depth due to the incumbent relativity of the position of objects with respect to one another. This type of apparatus also requires a coincidence between two poles: the viewpoint and the vanishing point. Such a correspondence produces a schematic construction along which the psychological processing of visual perception unravels, while the embodied scanning of signs concomitantly triggers mental imagery. This is akin to the way co-utterers interact both visually and verbally, linguistic parsing being based on the same embodied simulations between two poles and the same adjacency principle. Those similarities between linear perspective and verbal exchange may provide insights in terms of syntactic analysis but may also act as an epistemological model in terms of linguistic theories.
Il s’agira ici d’examiner comment le dispositif perspectif, espace géométrique fondé sur la contiguïté spatio-temporelle de figures inscrites sur un axe polarisé (point de vue/point de fuite), est susceptible de figurer très schématiquement l’ancrage situationnel et le type de parcours intersubjectif incarné sur lesquels repose aussi la construction du sens dans l’énoncé. Partant, nous montrerons comment les affinités formelles dégagées entre perspective visuelle et linéaire énonciatif peuvent nous éclairer sur certains phénomènes syntaxiques au sein de l’énoncé mais, également, être exploitées en linguistique à des fins épistémologiques.
