Influencia del refrán en las intrigas de las comedias del Siglo de Oro español

Abstract : The theatre of the Spanish Golden Age is an essential corpus for the scholars who research the literary use of proverbs. The most famous playwrights actually used the Refranero not only in their texts but also in the titles they chose for their plays. Beyond the study of the titles, the analysis of proverbs inserted in the corpus of comedias may reveal a new point of view to read these plays, being the Comedia a genre governed by a rather constraining set of literary conventions. In this frame, the use of proverbs can respond to various literary strategies, sometimes for ornamental or entertaining purposes, other times becoming an interface instrument for the development of the plot. They were a real source of inspiration for the authors of the Golden Age.
