Transferencias culturales: el teatro en España y en Francia en el siglo XVII (mito y realidades de una influencia)

Abstract : The author examines the relations, coincidences, influences, and transferences in the Spanish theater and the French theater of the seventeenth century, taking into account aspects like the originality, the imitatio and the superatio, the adaptation, the performance, the literary sources, the Golden Century, and the theatrical aesthetics. He emphasizes on the allusions to El arte nuevo de hacer comedias (from Lope de Vega), to the Querella del Cid and to Calderón de la Barca, beside the great French dramatists of the epoch. It is concluded that the importance of the Spanish theater goes beyond its own borders and influences on the development of the French theater of that time.
