Sexer les métapodes de bovins : proposition de méthodologie appliquée aux métacarpes. Exemple des sites archéologiques médiévaux d'Andone (Charente, X-XIe siècles) et de Montsoreau (Maine-et-Loire, XIe siècle)

Abstract : Many aurhors in archaeozoology sex metapodials, frequently found in a good state of conservation on archaeological sites, using the gracility index method. It is however not always made clear what is referred to and sometimes even the method is not specified. This article proposes a sex identification rnethodology from osteometric data wh ich is simple and easily to use, with an account of methodological lim its. Two medieval sites, on wh ich metacarpals were found, are used as application models.
